Privacy policy
Fumi is a personal email client used only by its developer. This policy explains what Fumi does with data from your email accounts, including Google user data it gets through the Gmail API.
What Fumi accesses
When you sign in, Fumi asks Google for permission to read, organise and send your Gmail messages. It uses that access only to show your mail in the app, and to carry out the actions you take: reading, moving, labelling, deleting, drafting and sending.
Where your data is kept
- Messages, attachments and sign-in tokens are stored only on your own computer, in an encrypted database locked with your passphrase.
- Fumi has no servers that receive your mail. There is no telemetry, analytics or crash reporting.
- If you turn on settings sync, Fumi’s own settings and workflow state (for example rules, snooze times and notes) are encrypted on your device before upload. The sync server stores only ciphertext it can’t read. Sign-in tokens and passwords never leave your device.
Sharing
Fumi does not sell, rent or share your data, and does not use it for advertising. Nobody else reads your mail, people or software, unless you ask for it.
The one exception is optional cloud AI. AI features run on your own computer by default. If you explicitly turn on a cloud AI provider for a feature, Fumi sends that provider only the content that feature needs, and only when you use it.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Fumi’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing your data
You can remove an account in Fumi, which deletes its local data. You can also revoke Fumi’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
